Snyder explains Batman v Superman
Zack Snyder has revealed Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice will not be a straight battle of two superheroes.
The Man Of Steel director's next film will feature Henry Cavill, reprising his role from the first film, opposite Ben Affleck taking on the role of the caped crusader.
Zack explained his thinking behind the title of the movie, now filming in Detroit, to USA Today.
The director refused to reveal exactly how the relationship between the two superheroes evolves, but added, "suffice it to say there is a 'v' in between their names.
"Having a 'v' instead of 'vs' is a way to keep it from being a straight 'versus' movie, even in the most subtle way."
While Batman and Superman have crossed paths in the DC Comic books and eventually form the Justice League, the two heroes have never appeared in cinema together before.
Zack admitted: "It's not an un-fun job, I will say that ... It's never really been done and it's kinda cool.
"You can talk all you want about other superhero movies, but it's Batman and Superman, let's just be honest. I don't know how you get bigger than that."
Warner Bros have revealed the first picture of Superman from the new movie - apparently in a darker setting than Man Of Steel.
The film will also feature Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Jeremy Irons as Batman's butler Alfred, as well as Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane reprising their role as Lois Lane, Perry White and Clark Kent's mother from the first movie.
Jesse Eisenberg has been cast as Superman's arch-nemesis Lex Luthor, and Holly Hunter, Callan Mulvey, Tao Okamoto, and Scoot McNairy are known to have been cast in unrevealed roles.
Now Latino Review has claimed there could be up to four more villains in the movie. The blog claims that while The Joker will not be making an appearance, insiders have revealed several other likely candidates.
First is Victor Zsazs, a serial killer from the Batman comics who has scarred up his body to count his many kills.
Lex Luthor's spokesman Morgan Edge is also thought to be making an appearance, as well as David Cain, an assassin who works with Luthor.
The fourth is Amanda Waller, a political scientist who works with Luthor in the comics. Latino Review claims she will appear in Batman v Superman as a senator who considers Superman a serious threat. This character previously appeared in 2011's Green Lantern movie as Doctor Waller, played by Angela Bassett, but the role is expected to be recast.
