Bryan Singer has revealed the writing team for the third film in the latest X-Men series.

The filmmaker, who is working on the second film Days Of Future Past, will head back behind the cameras for X-Men: Apocalypse.

He has now shared a picture online of a story session, which features X2 writing team Dan Harris and Mike Dougherty, as well as Simon Kinberg, who is overseeing the future of the franchise.

He tweeted: "Late night #XMen #Apocalypse story session. #SimonKinberg @DanimalHarris @Mike_Dougherty. It's snowing in Egypt!"

Plot details about the third film are not known but fans are speculating that it will be about a villain named Apocalypse, who has appeared in the X-Men comics.

The franchise's star Hugh Jackman is likely to be back as Wolverine and other X-Men alumni are also expected to be on board.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past will be released in May 2014, while X-Men: Apocalypse will be in cinemas around May 2016.
