Simon Pegg confirmed for MI: 4
Simon Pegg has been confirmed for Mission: Impossible 4.
The British actor, who previously admitted uncertainty over his participation, has closed a deal to reprise his role as lab geek Benji Dunn in the fourth instalment of the franchise, reported TheWrap.
He will be joined by The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo star Michael Nyqvist, who is in final talks to play the main villain.
Mission: Impossible's leading actor and producer Tom Cruise and director Brad Bird were so impressed with the Swedish actor's performance of crusading journalist Mikael Blomkvist in the film adaptation of Steig Larsson's thrillers that they approached him directly, said Australian website What's Playing.
Tom is also said to be using his star power to find a big name to play the head of IMF, a part previously played by Jon Voight, Anthony Hopkins and Laurence Fishburne.
What's Playing reports that the Knight And Day star is in Prague to scout locations, with production also scheduled for Dubai and Vancouver.
The fourth Mission: Impossible movie is scheduled for release on December 2011.
