Shirley and Robin for family comedy
Shirley MacLaine and Robin Williams are attached to new comedy from Striptease writer and director Andy Bergman.
The Apartment actress and the Mrs Doubtfire funnyman will star in A Film By Alan Stuart Eisner, a movie about a young documentary film-maker who wants to make a film about his family's amazing and bizarre World War II history, Deadline.com reports.
Shirley and Robin are attached along with Project X's Oliver Cooper, with Stand By Me director Rob Reiner already signed up to make a cameo.
Andy will be reuniting with his old producing partner Mike Lobell, with whom he made The Freshman, Honeymoon In Vegas, It Could Happen to You and Striptease.
Mike is in the process of drumming up the financing, he told Deadline.
The new project comes after he finally finished his 14-year attempt to produce a remake of 60s comedy Gambit, the original version of which starred Shirley and Michael Caine.
The new version, directed by Michael Hoffman, from a script by Joel and Ethan Coen, stars Colin Firth, Cameron Diaz and Alan Rickman and is due out on in October this year.
