YOUNG Irish actress Sarah Bolger is to act as a jury member for a competition to find new film-makers. The 19-year-old was in the Irish Film Institute yesterday to officially launch the 'Free Your Film' mobile videophone competition.

Three aspiring film makers in Ireland will be chosen and then helped to make a short film each. Sponsored by Sony Ericsson, the finished shorts will then be premiered on the opening night of the Darklight Festival next October 28.

Sarah, who travels to Canada next month to begin filming of the gothic boarding-school drama 'The Moth Diaries', said: "I'm really looking forward to reviewing the entries. I'm a big fan of the Darklight Festival."

For more information on how to enter the competition, see www.darklight.ie/freeyourfilm.
