Adam Sandler picks movie roles when the script makes him laugh

Adam Sandler has said he only picks scripts that make him laugh.

The Wedding Singer star - who appears alongside Leighton Meester and Andy Samberg in new comedy That's My Boy - admitted he is flooded with offers of comedy roles, and he just picks the ones he finds funny.

Adam said: "I have choices between comedies. A lot of people send me stuff, that's true and whatever makes me laugh, and my friends laugh, we end up doing next.

"This movie in particular, my character was the type of guy I have seen in my life and has made me laugh. A guy who is a little out of control and not afraid to drink 25 beers in a night and I don't know, these guys make me laugh."

Gossip Girl star Leighton confessed she had loved working with Adam as he is one of her heroes.

She said: "Adam is my hero. I've seen him since I was a kid in every movie and he is such a genius, so smart, so funny and Andy is a really cute, amazing teddy bear, who's super intelligent, really good at coming up with stuff on the spot, so the two of them together are fire."
