Zoe Saldana could be making her voiceover debut in the animated comedy Book Of Life.
The Avatar and Star Trek actress is rumoured to be in talks to join the cast of the upcoming film by 20th Century Fox Animation, said The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog.
Channing Tatum and Diego Luna could also be lending their voices to characters in the movie, which is being produced by Guillermo del Toro.
Christina Applegate, Ice Cube, Ron Perlman, Cheech Marin, Placido Domingo and Danny Trejo are also said to be on board for undisclosed roles.
Book Of Life, which will include a soundtrack of pop songs, follows a young man named Manolo, who has to face his greatest fears when he embarks on an amazing adventure that spans three fantasy worlds.
Jorge Gutierrez will direct the film, which he also wrote with Doug Langdale.
Production is expected to start shortly, with a release date planned for October 2014.
Zoe, who previously reprised her role as Starfleet officer Nyota Uhura in JJ Abrams' Star Trek Into Darkness, will next star in Guillaume Canet's Blood Ties with Marion Cotillard and Mila Kunis, and Robert Rodriguez's Machete Kills.
She is also attached to portray soul singer Nina Simone in an upcoming biopic, and is playing skilled fighter Gamora in Guardians Of The Galaxy.
Channing, last seen saving the US President in White House Down, has been busy shooting the 21 Jump Street sequel, 22 Jump Street, with Jonah Hill. He will voice Superman in The Lego Movie, and will star in the Wachowskis' sci-fi adventure Jupiter Ascending and dark drama Foxcatcher.
