Ryan heiress gets €90k funding
A COMPANY owned by Ryanair heiress Danielle Ryan has received €90,000 in funding from the Irish Film Board to make a feature film.
The grand-daughter of the Irish aviation entrepreneur Tony Ryan launched her company, Roads, earlier this year and covers the entertainment, publishing and perfume business.
The IFB has now commissioned its first production from Roads. The controversial documentary -- 'After the Dance' -- charts the journey of an Irish woman forced to give up her baby by the Catholic Church.
Ms Ryan's company has secured Bafta-nominated director Daisy Asquith for the film which is about Ms Asquith's own grandmother, who had a baby in secret.
Ms Asquith recently made a Channel 4 documentary on the world's biggest boy band, One Direction.
