Rooney Mara back on film set after gran's death
Actress Rooney Mara returned to the Co Kilkenny set of her latest film yesterday following the death of her grandmother Ann Mara (85).
The late Mrs Mara was co-owner of American football team the New York Giants and was often referred to as the "First Lady of Football". Mrs Mara died on February 1 from a head injury which she sustained after a fall on January 18.
As a mark of respect the NFL held a moment's silence before the coin toss at the Super Bowl on Sunday.
Mara became co-owner of the Giants following the death of her husband Wellington nine years ago. She is survived by her 11 children and 43 grandchildren. Rooney Mara is in Inistioge shooting Sebastian Barry's 'The Secret Scripture'.
