Rogen, Hill throw a Sausage Party
Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill are set to reunite for comedy film Sausage Party.
The two friends, along with their writing and producing partner Evan Goldberg, are the brains behind the "outrageous, not-for-kids" animated film, which has backing from Sony Pictures Entertainment, reported Collider.
The talented trio came up with the idea for the movie, which follows a sausage's quest to "discover the truth about its existence". After falling out of a shopping trolley, the hero sausage and his new friends have to embark on a perilous journey through the supermarket to get back to their aisles.
Seth and Evan will share writing duties with Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir.
Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan will direct the feature, which is being eyed for a release date in 2015.
Hannah Minghella from Columbia Pictures said: "We're thrilled to be back in business with Seth and Evan. This project has all the irreverent, insightful and risque R-rated humour we have come to expect from them.
"Matching their unique comic sensibility with an animated film is a fun and inspired idea. We are confident Seth, Evan, Conrad and Greg will deliver one of the most memorable animated movies of all time," she added.
Childhood friends Seth and Evan have had a long partnership on the small and big screens, starting with Da Ali G Show in 2004.
The pair co-wrote comedies Superbad, Pineapple Express and This Is The End, and are working on The Interview and Neighbours, which also stars Zac Efron, Dave Franco and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.
