Rodriguez: I'd direct Han Solo film
Robert Rodriguez has revealed that he wouldn't turn down the opportunity to direct a Star Wars spin-off movie, especially if it was about the adventures of Han Solo.
The Texan filmmaker, best known for directing Machete, Desperado and Sin City, said he would be open to taking control of one of the sci-fi movies in the future.
"If there was something that somebody said, 'Here, Han Solo, his own adventures.' I'd go do that," he told MTV.com.
Robert - who has been working on the Machete and Sin City sequels - reckons spin-offs based on George Lucas' Star Wars characters could work on the big screen.
"I don't mind them doing more Star Wars. I also like the whole idea of them doing off-shoot films, like you just have a Boba Fett movie over here," he continued.
"There's so much you can do. George has built such an enormous world... who's going to live up to that? It's almost like they should just branch it out, and let people play with those characters. There's such rich stuff."
JJ Abrams has just been confirmed to direct the seventh Star Wars film, after Disney acquired the rights to the franchise.
