Ricci heading Down Under for movie
Christina Ricci is heading to Australia after signing up to star in new indie movie Around The Block.
The Pan Am star will play an idealistic American drama teacher who ends up working at inner city school Redfern High in Sydney, known for its high population of aboriginal students, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Around The Block will apparently tell the story of young aboriginal pupil Liam, who is torn between his dream of acting and following his brother into crime.
Christina's character attempts to put on a production of Shakespeare's Hamlet, and tries to inspire her class by comparing the play's rhyming couplets to famous hip-hop lyrics.
The film will be the debut feature from writer-director Sarah Spillane and is due to start filming in late June for release in 2013.
