Reitman explores The Possibilities
Jason Reitman is set to direct drama The Possibilities.
The Labor Day filmmaker is taking the reins on the big-screen adaptation of Kaui Hart Hemmings' novel, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Jason has already purchased the exclusive rights to The Descendants' writer's next book through his Right Of Way Films production company, ahead of the release in May.
The story, which is set in a Colorado ski town, focuses on a grieving mother struggling to overcome her son's death. She is visited by a strange girl with a secret that will change them both.
George Clooney and Shailene Woodley starred in the film version of Kaui's debut novel, The Descendants, which was adapted by Alexander Payne, Nat Faxon and Jim Rash and won an Oscar for best adapted screenplay.
Jason's next film Labor Day, starring Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin, will be released in the UK on March 28.
The 36-year-old is working on comedy Men, Women And Children, which stars Emma Thompson, Adam Sandler and Jennifer Garner, and is based on Chad Kultgen's novel.
