Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill will bring thrills and spills for the 21 Jump Street movie, producer Neal Moritz has said.
The duo will play lead roles in the big-screen adaptation of the 1980s TV series, which propelled Johnny Depp to fame.
"We've got Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill, and we're really excited about it - I had dinner with the two guys and they're really good together and they're very excited to do the movie together and it's gonna be a lot of fun," Neal told Collider.
He continued: "I just got the new draft I'm gonna read that one. We start shooting April 18 in New Orleans."
The female lead Officer Judy Hoffs - originally played by Holly Robinson - has not been picked yet.
"We've met with a bunch of people, but we have not [announced a lead]," added Neal.
Jonah will co-write the script and be on board as executive producer in the film, which is scheduled for a 2012 release.
Johnny - who played Officer Tom Hanson for four seasons of the hit show - has said he would be happy to make a cameo.
