Praise for Depp's Rum Diary role
Johnny Depp is "incredible" in his new film The Rum Diary, according to one of his co-stars.
The actor's cast mate, Avatar's Giovanni Ribisi, says we won't be disappointed with Johnny's return to Hunter S Thompson following 1998's Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas.
"[He's] incredible, he's definitely somebody I want to be like when I grow up," Giovanni raved at Hollywood's 3D Awards having wrapped filming with the star.
He added: "It was just a crazy experience and I'm really excited about that movie."
Hunter's original story involves a journalist named Paul Kemp, who moves from New York to work for a major newspaper in Puerto Rico.
"It was hot and we were shooting in Old San Juan, the book takes place in the 60s and Old San Juan has that feel and so it was great," said 35-year-old Giovanni.
"Bruce Robinson the director is just out of his mind in the best way, so I'm excited for people to see the movie," Giovanni explained.
