PIXAR head-honcho and creative genius John Lasseter was quizzed on the secrets of his global success last night in a live celebrity interview.
The Oscar-winning animator and creator of a string of animated hits including 'Toy Story', 'Finding Nemo' and 'A Bug's Life' was the guest of honour at the Parnell Cinema in Dublin where he chatted with film critic Paul Byrne in the 'In Conversation With...' series sponsored by the Irish Film and Television Academy (IFTA).
One of Disney/Pixar's most talented team members, Lasseter began his meteoric career as a "skipper" on the Jungle Cruise ride at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. IFTA's chief executive Aine Moriarty said Mr Lasseter's visit here was an honour.
"To see John Lasseter, one of the world's leading pioneers of animated storytelling, share his vast knowledge and experience will be a huge thrill for members of IFTA and his many Irish fans."
His credits include 'Cars 2' which was screened at the cinema last night.
Earlier yesterday, Lasseter delighted younger fans when he visited the Disney Store on Grafton Street, Dublin.
