Robert Pattinson has replaced Colin Farrell for the lead role in David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis.
The Twilight heartthrob will play Eric Packer, a financial wizard and billionaire who risks his entire fortune to bet against the yen on a tumultuous day in the big-screen adaptation of Don DeLillo's novel, Deadline reported.
The film follows Eric as he travels across New York in his stretch limo, where he aims to get a haircut but gets caught up in a presidential visit, an attack by anarchists and a rapper's funeral.
Marion Cotillard and Paul Giamatti are reportedly joining Robert, who said he took the role because he is a big fan of Cronenberg's work and an admirer of DeLillo's books.
Robert is set to reprise his role as vampire Edward Cullen in the final instalment of the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn, and has been filming Water For Elephants alongside Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz.
