THE heroine of the new Hollywood spy thriller 'Knockout' snuggled a hot-water bottle yesterday as the cast filmed in freezing conditions in Dublin.

Martial arts expert Gina Carano, who plays the role of freelance covert operative Mallory Kane, kept out the cold as she filmed a scene on Dawson Street.

And she wasn't the only one who looked to an item of comfort as the second week of a three-week filming stint began.

The movie's Oscar-winning film director Steven Soderbergh was spotted drinking a smoothie as he manned the camera.

The film, which also features A-list hotshot Ewan McGregor and Irish star Michael Fassbender, will also film in locations in New Mexico, Turkey and Barcelona.

But before the crew go abroad, they will also shoot in the Dublin Docklands, Dublin Airport, the Shelbourne Hotel and in Co Wicklow.

The movie will tell the story of Mallory Kane, who is hired out by her handler to global entities to perform jobs that governments can't authorise and who is then betrayed by one of her colleagues.
