Nolan recommends Bentley for Batman
Christopher Nolan has apparently recommended Wes Bentley for the role of Batman in the Man Of Steel sequel.
The Dark Knight filmmaker, who was one of the producers and writers on the film, is said to be keen for the Hunger Games actor to play the caped crusader in the next instalment, which would pit Bruce Wayne against Clark Kent.
According to Cosmicbooknews.com, a DC Entertainment source revealed that Christopher reckons Wes - who stars in his next film Interstellar - would fill the Batsuit perfectly, while screenwriter David S Goyer is thought to be a fan of Jake Gyllenhaal.
Luke Evans and Ben Affleck are other names in the frame to portray Batman, and will also be offered screen tests. Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin, Joe Manganiello, Richard Armitage, Max Martini and Matthew Goode were previously rumoured for the role.
Teen Wolf star Tyler Hoechlin is said to be "too young" for the role.
The Batman auditions are expected to begin in September, with an announcement about casting following in late September or October.
Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane are expected to reprise their roles in Superman/Batman, the sequel to Man Of Steel, while Mark Strong has fuelled rumours that he could portray villain Lex Luthor.
The film is set to start production in 2014, in time for a 2015 release.
