Matthew McConaughey may not return for the Magic Mike sequel, actor Gabriel Iglesias has revealed.

Gabriel, who played the strip club's DJ and drug dealer Tobias in the first film, claimed that the star might not reprise his role as club owner Dallas in Magic Mike XXL.

"Word has it Matthew is probably not going to be involved in this one because he's worth a lot of money," he told Dish Nation.

"The whole Oscar thing. The nerve, right?" he added, referring to Matthew's Oscar-winning performance in Dallas Buyers Club.

Gabriel hinted that he could join Channing Tatum and Joe Manganiello to strip off in the sequel, saying: "I've signed on to be in part two. There's a good chance I'll get naked if the money's right. Why not?"

Meanwhile, Joe - who returns as Big D**k Richie - confirmed that the next instalment will see the guys hitting the road.

"We start shooting in the fall. It's a road trip movie. All the guys will be back together and causing some mayhem," he told E! News.

Channing, who reprises his role as male stripper Michael 'Magic Mike' Lane and is co-writing the screenplay with Reid Carolin, has said that the follow-up has been inspired by two strippers' conventions he attended, travelling in a friend's van and performing in front of 3,000 women.

"We don't want to make it some serious slice-of-life movie. We want to have real, like reality in it, but we don't want to make like some dark drama. This one, we want to have a lot of conflict and a lot of struggle, but we also want there to be a s*** ton of fun," he said.

Greg Jacobs will direct Magic Mike XXL, which will be released in July 2015.
