Naomie Harris glad not to have fame
Naomie Harris claims she loves not being famous.
The 33-year-old British actress has starred alongside Keira Knightley and Johnny Depp in the Pirates Of The Caribbean movies but feels she can still maintain anonymity in public, claiming: "I've just got one of those faces that people don't recognise.
"I love it - It's great because working with someone like Keira, who can't really leave her front door without being hassled, I just think [fame] isn't very fun."
She added: "I like the fact I'm able to do completely different roles and then go back to the role of being me and be completely anonymous, that's nice."
Naomie stars in new TV drama Blood And Oil, as Alice Omuka, a young and talented PR living in London who's asked to go over to Nigeria to help raise the profile of an oil industry company following the kidnap of three workers.
But she feels her big break in Hollywood, appearing films such as 28 Days Later, Miami Vice and After The Sunset, has helped her get work on British television.
"I think in this country we're very reluctant to provide a platform for our own British talent but once someone goes over to America and America sanctions them and goes 'Yeah they are worthy of success' or what have you, then Britain takes notice and says, 'Oh, OK then, right, we'll give her roles'.
"I feel that's what happened now and that's made my life a lot easier over here."
:: Blood And Oil is on March 29 and 30 on BBC Two.
