This week on the Film Show The Herald's resident movie man George Byrne and movie reviewer Brian Lloyd talk new releases 'What If' and 'The Rover'.

Daniel Radcliffe tackles his first adult romantic leading role in quirky romcom 'What If', playing would-be suitor to girl-with-a-boyfriend Zoe Kazan.

Despite the plot offering nothing particularly new (as George points out,we've been here before with When Harry Met Sally), the consensus is that a snappy script and charming performances elevate it above the average.

Filmed partly in Dublin (with Ballsbridge masquerading as Camden Street), it's the perfect date movie.

'The Rover' is an entirely different kettle of fish.  A post-apocalyptic crime drama from the director of Animal Kingdom, it stars Guy Pearce and Robert Pattinson and gets an enthusiastic thumbs up from George and Brian.

Pattinson delivers an outstanding performance matched by some of the best work of Pearce's career.  With influences ranging from Mad Max to The Proposition and The Road, it's one not to be missed.

This week's competition is for tickets to The Rover at Light House Cinema, Smithfield.  Check out for details on how to win.
