Hollywood A-Listers are competing with each other to cast UFC Featherweight champion Conor McGregor in a top movie.

TMZ reports that Mark Wahlberg reckons the Crumlin man could be a great actor if he is matched with the right role, and thinks it's 'very possible' the two could collaborate on a movie.

Wahlberg said that he is considering McGregor for a role in one of his future projects.

The 'Daddy's Home' star recently visited Ireland with co-star Will Ferrell and managed to fit in 18 holes at Portmarnock Golf Club with Rory McIlroy.

However, despite Wahlberg's use of flattery to compliment the Irishman he may have a rival who has already nabbed McGregor.

The US website also reports that Hollywood hardman Vin Diesel has hinted that he signed The Notorious for the next 'xXx' movie though this had not been confirmed yet.

Either way, he's certainly a man in demand.
