Will Ferrell was spotted hanging out at Eurovision in Lisbon in May and now it appears he wasn't just soaking up the atmosphere, but researching for his next film.

Deadline reports that Ferrell has written a script with Andrew Peele for a film about the song contest in which he will also star.

The Elf actor recently revealed that he has been a big fan of the competition since his Swedish wife introduced him to it back in 1999.

Ferrell recently produced another Netflix film, Ibizia, which stars Gillian Jacobs, Vanessa Bayer, Phoebe Robinson and Richard Madden.
