'We can just CGI Henry Cavill's mustache out, it will be fine and not look weird at all'

Forget the bad reviews, Justice League will be remembered for one thing and one thing only - Henry Cavill's moustache.

Or rather, Henry Cavill's face post GCI moustache removal.

Cavill, who plays a clean-shaven Superman in the DC flick, also plays a mustachioed character in Mission: Impossible 6.

When filming overlapped and he was due to film reshoots for Justice League, he was banned by MI studio Paramount from shaving.

The solution was a time-consuming and pricey one - to erase Cavill's moustache with CGI, costing a reported $25m.

He told Fox that hiding it required it to be waxed down, and added, "And then I had dots all over my face.  And they try to put dots, which are barely visible, sort in the various points on the face where you would see them during normal... not face replacement, but whatever CGI aspect they may be applying to a face.

"And yeah, I was covered in dots, and had a big moustache.  It was definitely a new look for Superman."

That's for sure.  Twitter has not been slow to mercilessly mock the result:
