WATCH: Tom Hardy's face when journalist asks about lack of men in Mad Max: Fury Road
Tom Hardy was left a little bemused by a question posed by a Toronto journalist during the press conference for Mad Max: Fury Road at Cannes.
Toronto Star film critic Peter Howell asked Tom how he felt about the lack of men in the movie, clearly referring to the fact that Men's Rights Activists recently called for a boycott of the film because they deemed it a "feminist piece of propaganda posing as a guy flick".
Howell said, "Tom, I’ll preface my remarks by saying that I have five sisters, a wife, a daughter and a mother so I know what it’s like to be outgunned by oestrogen. But I just wanted to ask you, as you were reading the script did you ever think ‘why are all these women in here. I thought this was supposed to be a man’s movie?"
Hardy, a little surprised, said, "No. Not for one minute." before adding, "That’s kind of obvious. But like, but also in reference to the concept of having a script, that would have been nice."
It kicks off about 9.50...
