A picture says a thousand words and the facial expressions of Margot Robbie, Saoirse Ronan and Jessica Chastain as Kate Winslet speaks enthusiastically about working with Woody Allen ate certainly a picture.

Kate, Saoirse, Margot and Jessica were sharing the sofa with Annette Bening and Diane Kruger for The Envelope web series with the Los Angeles Times.

Winslet, who worked with the controversial director on Wonder Wheel, praise him for the roles he writes for women.

“Woody Allen is an extraordinary writer," she said.  "He’s obviously known for having created extraordinary roles, very very powerful and complicated roles for women, for many many years."

None of the other women said anything but they clearly looked uncomfortable with the comments.

Chastain has previously said she would never work with Allen who married his adopted daughter Soon-Yi Previn and has been accused of abusing his daughter Dylan Farrow 25 years ago.  He denies the allegations.

Margot Robbie was seated directly beside Winslet for the session and her particular reaction, labelled a classic 'side-eye' has gone viral.

Winslet was previously asked about working with Allen in the wake of the accusations levelled against him and she told the New York Times, "As the actor in [Wonder Wheel], you just have to step away and say, I don’t know anything, really, and whether any of it is true or false. Having thought it all through, you put it to one side and just work with the person."
