The first trailer for the Kurt Cobain documentary Montage of Heck has been released.

The sneak peek at the film features a combination of animation, home movies, photos, and interviews with friends and family to tell Cobain's story.

It covers his life from childhood in the Pacific Northwest to his troubled teen years and his time with Nirvana and Courtney Love and his daughter Frances Bean.  Some of the footage has never been seen before publicly.

He died in 1994 at the age of 27.

The film has garnered rave reviews, having premiered at Sundance.  Former Nirvana member Dave Grohl refused to take part in Brett Morgan's film until he became aware of the positive reviews.

The film will be released in Ireland on April 10.  IMC cinemas (Dun Laoeghaire, Galway, Santry, Tallaght and Carlow), Dublin IFI and Light House Dublin. Further cinemas will shortly be announced HERE
