WATCH: Michael Fassbender in jaw-dropping first trailer for Assassin’s Creed
It may be a video game adaptation but it stars Michael Fassbender so it gets a Fass pass.
The first trailer for Assassin's Creed, the adaptation of Ubisoft's hugely successful video game franchise, has landed and it looks pretty epic, thanks in the main to Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, and plenty of free-running, fisticuffs and impressive CGI.
We first meet Callum Lynch (Fassbender) at Abstergo Industries where they want to access his genetic memories and make contact with his ancestor Aguilar in 15th Century Spain.
"At 6pm yesterday evening you were executed and pronounced dead. You no longer exist." says Cotillard's Sophia Rikkin.
"What kind of prison is this?" asks Callum.
"It's not a prison your about to enter the Animus, what you're about to see, hear and feel are the memories of your ancestor who has been dead for 500 years," she says not-very-reassuringly.
Kanye West's I Am God then kicks in and the impressive action begins.
The film, directed by Justin Kurzel, lands on December 30.
