WATCH: Leo DiCaprio gets Oscar engraved - 'Do you do this every year? I wouldn't know'
As far as Oscars campaigns go Leonardo DiCaprio probably had the most momentum of any previous nominee in the run up to Sunday night's ceremony.
With a million memes, Facebook groups arranging celebratory meetings (should he finally win), fans building him an Oscar, it seemed everyone on the planet wanted him to win.
Win he did for his role in The Revenant and it seems that, much like the rest of us, he has a sense of humour about the fact that his five previous nominations resulted in nada.
Waiting backstage for his Oscar to be engraved, the 41-year-old star chatted to the engraver and asked, "Do you do this every year? I wouldn't know."
Have you ever seen such a happy face in your life?
Leo reportedly partied at Ago restaurant to celebrate his win and TMZ reports he exited the building with a bottle of booze - before someone ran out after him with his Oscar.
Clearly he's just not used to having one yet!
The actor was previously nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role for Blood Diamond (2006) and The Aviator (2004).
He was also nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993) and Best Motion Picture of the Year along with Scorsese and the team for The Wolf of Wall Street (2013).
However, after bagging Best Actor at the Golden Globes, BAFTAs, SAGs, and countless other awards it would have been a shock had he not triumphed on Sunday night.
He's come a long way for that Razzie for Worst Screen couple for his role(s) as twins in The Man in the Iron Mask.
