WATCH: Flashback to 1992 as original Aladdin cast reunite to sing 'A Whole New World'
The original voice cast of Disney's 'Aladdin' reunited on Good Morning America this week for a healthy dose of nostalgia.
Lea Salonga and Brad Kane, who voiced Aladdin and Jasmine, sang 'A Whole New World' together for the first time in 23 years.
The animated classic, which earned two Oscars in 1993, is being re-released on DVD and Disney have also celebrated by releasing some behind the scenes footage of the late Robin Williams playing his iconic genie character from the film.
Ahead of the re-release, the film's directors Ron Clements and John Musker paid tribute to the iconic actor.
According to Musker, Williams was the only choice for voicing the genie.
“We were totally walking down the plank. If he said no, we were going to be in big trouble because the whole concept was built around Robin," he admitted.
Clements added, “There was nobody else who could be the genie, and fortunately he agreed to do it. He had so much energy and so much passion."
The re-release featuring the outtakes and bonus scenes will be available to buy on October 13th.
