WATCH: Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange in first trailer may relieve your Marvel fatigue
For those of you not suffering from Marvel fatigue (and even those of you who are) might find something a little different in the new trailer for Doctor Strange.
Benedict Cumberbatch popped up on Jimmy Kimmel Live to reveal the first teaser which sees him starring as Steven Strange, a neurosurgeon who has a car crash, ending his career.
When he meets Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One, his life is changed forever as he's introduced to the world of mystic arts.
"You're a man looking at the world through a keyhole," she says.
"You've spent your life trying to widen it. Your work saved the lives of thousands. What if I told you that reality is one of many?"
Strange responds, "I don't believe in fairytales about chakras or energy or the power of belief."
She tells him she sees possibility in his future and adds, "There are other ways to save lives. So much you don't know."
It may only be the teaser, but its crammed with impressive Inception-style visual effects. The signs are good...
Directed by Scott Derrickson, the film also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Karl Mordo, Rachel McAdams, Michael Stuhlbarg, Benedict Wong, and Mads Mikkelsen. It releases on October 28.
