Two Irish actors join Game of Thrones cast for season seven
Two new Irish actors have joined the Game of Thrones cast for season seven, according to reports
According to Game of Thrones fan site Watchers on the Wall, Irish actors Brendan Morrissey and Rory Dignam joined the cast for the seventh season of the show.
Morrissey has held roles in Angela's Ashes, Brookside, Fair City and The Tudors, as well as working alongside Julianne Moore on Laws of Attraction. Morrissey is set to take the part of Frey's Lord, according to his agency CV.
Dublin-based actor Dignam has starred in multiple productions at The Lir and holds "nice little supporting role" in Game of Thrones, according to his management's website, although no further information has been given.
A short trailer for Game of Thrones season 7 appeared on HBO in the US on Sunday night.
The 'Coming in 2017' trailer feature focused on the Starks, who have suffered six seasons of misery in the show. In the last season fans had some hope that their fortunes were improving when they saw all four surviving Starks back on the one continent - with Sansa and Jon claiming back Winterfell following the Battle of the Bastards.
In season seven could we see a proper family reunion? Stills from the trailer see Sansa standing in front of the weirwood tree in Winterfell with a look of shock on her face. Could this be the moment when she reunites with her sister Arya? Or is something more sinister lurking in the Godswood?
We will have to wait a while to find out as season seven is set to premiere in summer 2017, much later than Game of Thrones' usual spring air date.
