Suicide Squad is reportedly "so dark" that the Director has provided actors with an on-set therapist.

Director David Ayer has reportedly provided the cast with an on-set therapist to make sure they "have (their) ground".

'Slipknot' actor Adam Beach told E! News that Ayer is "all about realism".

"If your character is tormented, he wants you to torment yourself... he wants the real thing".

To keep this under control, Beach revealed that Ayer has provided an on-set therapist.

"We have, like, a therapist... if you fall off the wagon and really are villainous".

He added that the resource, who is a friend of the directors, is "really unique in making sure we have our ground".

"There are thin lines... he wants to make sure we finish a movie and don't disappear somewhere and don't show up for work".

Suicide Squad starring Jared Leto, Ben Affleck, Margot Robbie and Will Smith will be released in August 2016.
