Star Wars The Force Awakens star Daisy Ridley reveals JJ Abrams called her acting 'wooden' on first day on set
British actress Daisy Ridley's career is set to go stellar when Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens on December 17.
However, the 23-year-old star has revealed that landing the coveted role of Rey in the upcoming film came with some tough moments.
In an interview with Glamour, due to hit shelves in the January issue, Daisy reveals she was almost reduced to tears on her first day of filming because director JJ Abrams called her acting "wooden".
“I was petrified. I thought I was gonna have a panic attack on the first day,” she told Glamour.
“Because JJ…he probably doesn’t remember telling me that my performance was wooden. This was the first day! And I honestly wanted to die. I thought I was gonna cry, I couldn’t breathe.
“And there was so many crew there, because obviously all the creatures, and there were loads of extra crew making sure everyone was safe ’cause it was so hot. It was awful”.
Reviews of the movie, and indeed Daisy's performance, have yet to be seen although producer Spielberg has reportedly seen the movie three times and presumably he's happy.
