Saoirse Ronan's Brooklyn role tipped to bring Hollywood honours
Saoirse Ronan looks set to add another prestigious award to her collection when she is honoured at the upcoming Hollywood Film Awards.
The Irish actress is reported to be receiving the New Hollywood gong at the glitzy awards ceremony, which takes place on November 1 in LA.
The Carlow native - who has won 25 international awards for her acting talent - is to pick up the statuette for her role in critically-acclaimed film Brooklyn.
That role has also seen Ronan hotly tipped to secure an Oscar nomination.
After premiering in New York earlier this week, the movie - which is based on Irish author Colm Toibin's novel and also features Star Wars actor Domhnall Gleeson - will make its Irish debut in Dublin later this month.
Saoirse, who was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in Atonement at the tender age of 13, isn't the only big name on the winners' list at the Hollywood Film Awards.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Michael Fassbender's on/off girlfriend Alicia Vikander (pictured inset) will also be honoured with the Breakout Actress Award for her role in The Danish Girl.
The couple, who met last year on the set of The Light Between Oceans, were rumoured to have split up recently - but earlier this week were pictured in New York together.
Saoirse, meanwhile, has admitted it's natural for screen stars to find love on set.
Although the 21-year-old is single now, Saoirse was previously linked to her How I Live Now co-star George MacKay in 2013.
Saoirse said in an interview with ET online that she's inexperienced when it comes to the dating scene because of her profession.
"I have to say, it's more common for an actor to get in relationships with others you work with because you're friends with them or get to know them [during filming]," she said.
"So the dating thing, I'm not as well up on."
