Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie will star in the same movie - as queens
Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie are set to share the silver screen together.
Ronan will play the titular role in the upcoming Mary Queen of Scots movie, while Robbie is set to play her cousin and rival, Queen Elizabeth.
The film will feature murders, assassination plots, and claims to the throne by both the Catholic Queen Mary and the Protestant Queen Elizabeth.
According to Variety, "the drama is based on the true story of Mary Stuart’s attempt to overthrow her cousin Elizabeth I, Queen of England, only to find herself condemned to years of imprisonment before facing execution."
House of Cards creator Beau Willimon is writing a script based on the book by John Guy titled, The True Life of Mary Stuart.
The movie is yet to be greenlit with but it's expected it will go into production later this year, thanks to the hype surrounding the two lead actresses.
Robbie (26) is currently working alongside Irish actor Domhnall Gleeson in Goodbye Christopher Robin, where she plays the life of Winnie the Pooh author AA Milne.
Meanwhile Ronan (23) has been signed on to play a refugee in a new romantic drama called Sweetness in the Belly, which will see her reunite with the Irish producers of the Oscar-nominated Brooklyn.
