The Devil's Woods is a visceral and violent debut film from an up and coming Irish writer/director.

The independent film is the first feature project by Anthony White, who is inspired by classic 1970s horrors such as The Wicker Man.

White describes the flick as 'visceral and violent' and states that it is a homage to old Italian horror from director Mario Bava.

The Devil's Woods sees four main characters set off on a carefree road trip, but quickly descends into a living nightmare when they reach a mysterious rural town.

The film stars Red Rock and Love/Hate actor Stephen Cromwell and fellow Irish talents Aoife King, Eoin Quinn, Danielle Keaney, Daniel Mahony and Caoimhe Cassidy.

The Devil's Woods was financed through crowdfunding website IndieGogo and White is currently in talks with several distributors.

The film will be commencing the festival circuit later this year.
