Oscar stars are given an extra high with $100,000 goody bag
If this Sunday's Oscars speeches are more bizarre than usual it may have something to do with the nominees' $100,000 (€88,400) gift bags.
The legendary bags, distributed to the 25 nominees in acting and directing, will include handmade chocolate truffles infused with cannabis.
California recently legalised the drug for recreational use. So, if nominees feel like calming their nerves during the ceremony in Los Angeles, they can do so without fear of arrest. The goody bags also have skin care items infused with the drug, including a cannabis facial moisturiser.
There will also be a choice of a boat tour down the Amazon or a trip to the Galapagos Islands, and a week in a California spa worth $10,000 (€8,840).
They will be delivered to nominees including Bradley Cooper, Lady Gaga, Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Olivia Colman and Rachel Weisz.
