Liam Neeson has signed up for Seth MacFarlane's highly anticipated Ted sequel.
The Northern Irish star will join Mark Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried, and Morgan Freeman in the film, with MacFarlane reprising the role of the foul-mouthed teddy bear.
The 'Family Guy' creator will also direct and co-write the script.
Neeson is currently busy promoting his latest thriller, the well-received A Walk Among the Tombstones, and Ted 2 will provide a welcome change of tone for the star, who is also set to star in thriller Taken 3.
MacFarlane and Neeson previously worked together on the MacFarlane's previous big screen outing, A Million Days to Die in the West, which didn't exactly set the box office alight.
Ted 2 is likely to be a more bankable project since the first film grossed $549m. The sequel is scheduled for release in early summer next year.
