Channel 4 broadcast the network premiere of Les Miserables last night and fervent fans took to Twitter to chart their delight, and then their devastation as the events of the film unfolded.

The powerful 2012 Oscar winning musical stars Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Eddie Redmayne, Helena Bonham Carter, Amanda Seyfried, and Sacha Baron Cohen.

Crowe came in for some unmerciful criticism for his vocals from fans on Twitter although most were happy to wallow in the misery and declare they would spend their week singing while they work...
