Hollywood actor Anton Yelchin (27) 'dies in freak car accident outside home'
Actor Anton Yelchin has died in a freak car accident, according to TMZ.
The 27-year-old is best known for his roles in 'Star Trek' and 'Alpha Dog'.
The publication reports he was killed on Sunday morning at his San Fernando Valley home in California after he got pinned between his car and a letter box at his security gate.
His publicist has confirmed that he died in a fatal traffic collision.
The alarm was raised after Mr Yelchin failed to show up for a rehearsal.
His friends discovered him at his home at 1am on Sunday morning.
It was reported the engine of the car was running and the car was in neutral on the steep driveway. It is still unclear how the tragic accident occurred but police do not suspect foul play.
