Exclusive trailer for '71' set in Northern Ireland, starring Jack O'Connell and Love/Hate's Charlie Murphy and Killian Scott

The first trailer for movie '71', set in Northern Ireland and starring a host of Irish talent, has been released.

The film stars Jack O'Connell as a young British soldier who is accidentally abandoned by his unit following a riot on the streets of Belfast in 1971.

Unable to tell friend from foe, and increasingly wary of his own comrades, the raw recruit must survive the night alone and find his way to safety through a disorientating, alien and deadly landscape.

O'Connell, best known for his roles in E4 series Skins and the film 300: Rise of an Empire, will be joined on screen by a host of Irish names including Love/Hate stars Charlie Murphy and Killian Scott, as well as David Wilmot, Barry Keoghan, and Martin McCann.

The film is the feature debut of director Yann Demange, and features music by David Holmes.

71 releases on October 10.
