Dublin's Dawson St gets a New York makeover for Neil Jordan's new film
Pedestrians on Dublin's Dawson Street were transported to New York this weekend as filming for Neil Jordan's new film got underway.
Scenes for The Widow, a thriller starring Chloe Grace Moretz, Maika Monroe and Isabelle Huppert, were shot on Dawson Street and the Mansion House on Sunday.
98FM sports broadcaster Darren Cleary was strolling down the street when he happened across the set which was packed with American cars and members of the New York Police Department.
Lighting rigs were set up along the pavement and within the Mansion House.
The film stars Moretz as Frances, a young woman who is new to Manhattan, and her friendship with an elderly widow whose lost purse she returns. However, Frances soon realises that the woman has dangerous intentions.
It Follows star Monroe will play Frances's best friend.
Moretz was in Ireland earlier this month to film and shared images from her time here with fans on Instagram.
