Domhnall Gleeson is completely unrecognisable as brunette in new role
Domhnall Gleeson is probably the most recognisable male redhead in Hollywood but he has dispensed with his trademark flame tresses for his latest role.
The Dublin star is completely unrecognisable as a brunette in new Netflix flick, A Futile and Stupid Gesture.
It's the story of comedy king Doug Kenney, who co-created the National Lampoon, Caddyshack, and Animal House.
Kenney was at the center of the 70’s comedy counter-culture which gave birth to Saturday Night Live and a whole generation's way of looking at the world.
Domhnall plays Henry Beard, one of the founders of National Lampoon magazine and the author of several best-selling books.
The Netflix film is directed by David Wain and also stars Emmy Rossum, Seth Green, and Natasha Lyonne. It's landing on Netflix on January 26.
Gleeson has two more films landing next year. He'll play Mr McGregor in Peter Rabbit which releases on February 9 and he'll also star in The Little Stranger.
The latter will see him reunite with Frank director Lenny Abrahamson, this time for a horror mystery set in 1947.
In recent months he has been on the press trail for Star Wars: The Last Jedi in which he reprised his role as General Hux.
