Conor McGregor: Notorious now highest-grossing Irish-made documentary of all time at Irish box office

Following its knockout opening weekend, Conor McGregor: Notorious has now become the highest grossing Irish made documentary of all time at the Irish box office.

The documentary, which chronicles the 29-year-old Dublin star's rise to fame and the top of the MMA game, has take a cumulative All Ireland box office of €330,000.

It surpassed Ken Wardrop's documentary His and Hers which took €280,491 and now sits in second place followed by Bobby Sands, Older than Ireland and The Queen of Ireland in fifth place.

The film pulled a whopping €103m is its opening weekend.

This week it has taken the number 5 spot at the All Ireland box office behind Paddington 2, Murder on the Orient Express, Thor: Ragnarock and A Bad Moms Christmas.

It has taken more than the critically acclaimed The Killing of a Sacred Deer starring Colin Farrell, Barry Keoghan, and Nicole Kidman which has taken €155,522 in the two weeks since its release.

Directed by Gavin Fitzgerald and filmed over four years, Notorious sees steadily built up his profile and reputation in the tough world of MMA, before eventually taking on Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas in a boxing match in August that netted him a reported €100m.

McGregor last week appeared on The Late Late Show and the episode pulled higher ratings than last month's exclusive with former US Presidential candidate Hilary Clinton.
