Colin Farrell is in talks to star in Disney's latest live-action remake.
The Irish actor is in negotiations to star in Disney's remake of Dumbo.
Farrell will play a widowed father of two children who befriend the loveable elephant. Will Smith and Chris Pine were reportedly considered for the same role.
Disney's original movie focused on the elephant's early years after it was separated from its mother but the remake is set to take a different spin on the 1941 animated classic.
Directed by Tim Burton, the movie will also star former Bond actress Eva Green as a French trapeze artist and Danny DeVito has been lined up to play the circus ringmaster.
Disney's decision to reboot Dumbo is the latest in a long line of live-action remakes following the success of Maleficent, Cinderella, The Jungle Book and the box office juggernaut, Beauty and the Beast.
The studio is also set to bring The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Mulan and Aladdin to life.
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels director Guy Ritchie has been confirmed as director for the Aladdin remake.
