Captain America: Civil War trailer: first glimpse of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man

Watch superheroes Captain America and Iron Man go head to head in the new trailer for Marvel's latest film, released this May

Forget Batman vs Superman: the latest trailer for Marvel’s forthcoming Captain America: Civil War has arrived – and we now officially can’t wait for the full showdown between Chris Evans’s titular super-soldier and Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man. (Sadly, we’re going to have to wait: the film isn’t out until May 6.)

Perhaps the most exciting thing about the new trailer is that it gives us our first look at Tom Holland's Spider-Man, one of several superheroes appearing in the new film. It also looks as if the web-slinger is definitely on Tony Stark's side.

In the final moments of the trailer, he shoots a web and uses it to neatly relieve Captain America of his famous shield, before nonchalantly announcing his arrival with a "hey everyone!"

While the title links the film to the Captain America series, in reality our next slice of the Marvel-action-pie is something of an “Avengers 2.5”, bridging the gap between Age of Ultron and 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War - Part I.

Other superheroes featured in the film include Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow, Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch, Don Cheadle's War Machine, and Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther.
