Bond meets a real-life Duchess at London's Spectre premiere
He is part of Her Majesty's Secret Service, but last night Bond star Daniel Craig had a very public red carpet encounter with a Duchess
The 007 actor was at the premiere of Spectre at the Royal Albert Hall in London, where he was introduced to Duchess Kate. Although he was flanked by Bond girls Lea Seydoux and Monica Bellucci, Craig's wife, Rachel Weisz, kept a close grip of him while they waited on the red carpet last night.
The film's Irish link, Andrew Scott, was suited and booted along with his co-stars for the event.
The Churchtown native plays Bond's boss, Max Denbigh, in Spectre - and said he thinks there could be a gay Bond in the future.
"You have to be very careful not to do things for the sake of doing them," he said. "But I don't see why not. A black actor could play Bond and bring all sorts of attributes to the character that have nothing to do with his colour - the same with a female, and the same with a gay actor."
Meanwhile, Bond fans in Dublin were left disappointed when one of first showings of Spectre here was pushed back due to a technical glitch.
The Savoy Cinema on O'Connell Street said most fans were happy to wait an hour for it to be screened.
