Sam Mendes is reportedly in the frame to direct the next James Bond movie.
The director - who is married to Oscar winner Kate Winslet - is in talks about taking the reins on what would be the suave spy's 23rd big screen outing, says the Hollywood Reporter.
The film will see Daniel Craig step into 007's tux for the third time, following 2006's Casino Royale and 2008's Quantum Of Solace, which was directed by Marc Forster.
If Mendes does the land the gig he will bring impressive movie credentials to the table - the 44-year-old won a best director Oscar for 1999's American Beauty and was at the helm of 2008's Revolutionary Road, which won a host of awards including a best actress Golden Globe for his wife.
The Hollywood Reporter says the next Bond movie could be released in 2011.
